I don’t count many positive things from my 12 year hell but I am thankful for this major outcome…I am able to spot an abusive person when I see one and for this reason I will never be able to give 45 a chance in hell. I don’t care for his bully tactics and the gaslighting by the administration as a whole.
What is gaslighting you didn’t ask?
Well gaslighting is a form of psychological warfare used heavily by narcissistic individuals. It is used to confuse you and make you doubt and question reality. As stated here…
Gaslighting involves the abuser to frequently and systematically withhold factual information from the victim, and replacing it with false information. Because of it’s subtly, this cunning Machiavellian behaviour is a deeply insidious set of manipulations that is difficult for anybody to work out, and with time it finally undermines the mental stability of the victim. That is why it is such a dangerous form of abuse. The emotional damage of Gaslighting is huge on the narcissistic victim. When they are exposed to it for long enough, they begin to lose their sense of their own self. Unable to trust their own judgments, they start to question the reality of everything in their life. They begin to find themselves second-guessing themselves, and this makes them become very insecure around their decision making, even around the smallest of choices. The victim becomes depressed and withdrawn, they become totally dependent on the abuser for their sense of reality. In effect the gaslighting turns the victim’s reality on its head.
There are 7 breakdowns of gaslighting
- They tell lies
- They deny they said something even though there is proof
- They use what you care about as ammunition
- They wear you down slowly
- Actions do not match their words
- They throw in positives to confuse you
- Confusion is used as a tool to weaken people
- They project
- They align people against you (In my case my own dam family)
- They tell you or other people that you are crazy
- They tell you everyone else is a liar
There are a few things that have worn me out over the last month.. the constant undermining of the media, the court system, and the claims that protesters are paid. I for one am getting tired of the word fake. It is the most played out word of the 45 administration. CNN is not fake. NY Times is not fake. Reputable news sources are not fake. Fake news are stories based on zero factual information disseminated by fake websites to generate clicks and make money off ad revenue.
Examples of fake news stories…
Fake news: Hillary Clinton is running a child sex ring out of a pizza shop.
Fake news: Democrats want to impose Islamic law in Florida.
Fake news: Thousands of people at a Donald Trump rally in Manhattan chanted, “We hate Muslims, we hate blacks, we want our great country back.”
If you’d like you can read further up on what is actual fake news read this article by Politifact… 2016 Lie of the Year: Fake news. Very informative and shows how fake news became a major part of Trumps rhetoric.
Here is a gem of a lie…
That is part of the gaslighting this administration is trying to conduct. Claiming something is fake news repeatedly until those who you are targeting start believing everything in the news is fake. It is disgusting and I am tired of it. Are there slants? Sure there will be some bias in news stories… but facts are still facts and if we cannot talk facts than how can people have conversations? I don’t claim to be all knowing but I am turned off to a conversation when I hear/read the words fake or alternative facts.
My biggest pet-peeve of them all is this idea that the protesters are paid to make it look like the people are unhappy when in fact they are loving everything. I am sure there are some people out there that are perfectly okay with the direction this country is going in but to say there is no discontent is ridiculous. The 45 administration is trying to create this illusion of happiness and grandeur that is just not reality. Even people who voted for him are becoming disillusioned. There is a trending hashtag on twitter called Trump Regrets. It is full of people who voted for him that do not like the decisions he is making.
This gripe about paid protesters began with a fake news story back during the campaign.
This man wrote article for the purpose of getting clicks and making money and he was able to do it by playing to the talking points of Trump supporters.
My sites were picked up by Trump supporters all the time. I think Trump is in the White House because of me. His followers don’t fact-check anything — they’ll post everything, believe anything. His campaign manager posted my story about a protester getting paid $3,500 as fact. Like, I made that up. I posted a fake ad on Craigslist.
Why? I mean — why would you even write that?
Just ’cause his supporters were under the belief that people were getting paid to protest at their rallies, and that’s just insane. I’ve gone to Trump protests — trust me, no one needs to get paid to protest Trump. I just wanted to make fun of that insane belief, but it took off. They actually believed it.
Yet months and months later we are still hearing about paid protesters. Congressman are not holding town hall meetings this week because paid protesters are disrupting the meetings.
In Utah, Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz told the papers that
he was sure that the protesters, who chanted “shame!” and grilled him on investigating President Donald Trump, were Democrats and that they were trying to cause “chaos” because they don’t like Trump and are upset about the results of the 2016 election.
Yet like true fashion he did not provide “proof” for his accusations. So what did they do? Chaffetz constituents sent him a fake invoice for $500 so he could pay them.
The document lists a $400 charge for “paid protest hours” during Chaffetz’s Feb. 9 town hall at Brighton High School in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
It also lists two $50 fees for “being callously dismissed by representative” and “being labeled out-of-state radical.”
The bill, with a due date of March 1, additionally thanks Chaffetz for “bringing it to our attention that this was a paid event” and urges him to “please stop dismissing your constituents.”
How about no. How about people are angry. How about people are concerned.
This graphic from Enroll America shows how the uninsured rate dropped from 2013 to 2016. Notice that many of the red states obtained insurance under the Affordable Care Act. these people are now angry to learn that they may lose their coverage.
For instance there is a group of people in Kentucky who voted for Trump and now are worried they will lose their Black Lung benefits.
They knew he was going to go after the ACA… why oh why vote against your best interests? I have come to the conclusion that they did not know that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are one and the same. It is easy to make these people angry by putting Obama’s name on something.
To conclude, I cannot fathom how not listening to their constituents will help them with reelection. This idea that people are being paid to be disruptive is untrue. I have been to the protests and no one there needs a paycheck to voice their concerns. There are millions of people that are feeling the affects of 45’s policies or potential policies. Remember just because you personally don’t feel affected does not cancel out others.
I cannot wait for 2018. If things keep going at this pace many of these representatives will be sitting in their living rooms in 2019 scratching their heads wondering what went wrong. I can tell you… you shut out your voters by believing they are paid disgruntled people and not real. I can tell you now that my rep, who is avoiding us like the plague, will be one of those in for a rude awakening come reelection.
PS: If protesters are being paid then where do I pick up my paycheck?
